THF oxidation products?
We all know what the 'desired' product of THF oxidation is, but if using TCCA (which, i hear can be done) what else might form as
byproducts? More specifically, what might get in the way of oxidizing THF and reacting with NaOH?

Dunno what the desired product you are refering to is...but I believe someone on the E&W said THF and TCCA makes GBL.

cyclic ethers are oxidised mainly to lactones however there is a few % crap formed, these would mainly be over oxidation and polymerisation products i
believe. I do have the articles on cyclic ether oxidations on my arvhive hard drive but im not at home so ill try and have a look when i am (thats if
i remember... bad memory sorry!) ill see how i go.
