EXTRACTION

I was wondering if it would be possible to use lab space to extract avocatin B from avocado seeds. I know somebody with leukemia who is interested in it, and I would have to do the final tests on myself as toxicity a la as in the book Coma.

Please read the forum guidelines.

Unreferenced questions should be placed in Beginnings.

The idea is that if you have no idea at all and have no reference material that you have read about the subject, then you're a Beginner.

Trying to self-medicate or medicate someone else w/o medical supervision is asking for problems of all kinds.

Also, what evidence do you have of the effect of avocatin B on leukaemia and what effect?

I'm guessing this (and only because it piqued my interest):

Media:

There is a ton of stuff, easily available (redacted for reason below).

Now, as for structure, this appears to be your guy:

Extraction should be easy enough, but you'll get the whole lipid fraction (and probably some other crap). I imagine you'd then have to purify it via chromatography with silica gel or florasil.

Still, I cannot emphasize enough how much you should avoid consuming, or worse providing for consumption, a compound that has not been demonstrated safe at therapeutic doses (which are large). Because of this, I'll hold my thoughts on the how of it, for now.

Also, if you follow the example given here, I suspect you will observe a more favorable response.

O3
