Titanium nitrate synthesis


I want to prepare Titanium nitrate tetrahydrate using titanium oxide
Pls help me ! I have tried it conc. Nitric acid but im not sure how much titanium nitrate has form pls help

Most commercial TiO2 grades are completely insoluble in nitric acid, regardless of concentration or temperature of the acid.

Titanyl sulphate - (TiO)SO4 - can be obtained by fusing TiO2 with NaHSO4 (anh). Ti(+4) compounds in water are always titanyl compounds.

Ti powder dissolves fairly well in hot HCl (37 w%) or hot H2SO4 (50 w%) to form the respective deep blue Ti(+3) salts.

Ti powder with nitric acid forms insoluble TiO2.
