Separating Methanol from Methylated Spirits
Hey Science Madness,
I have recently acquired some methylated spirits, which contains 95% Ethanol and 5% Methanol.
Is there any possible way of separating the Methanol from the Ethanol?
I lack the required equipment to fractional distill it to take advantage of boiling point differences, but is there any chemical that would suffice?
Say, react (or absorb) the Methanol and leave the Ethanol alone?

Methanol is readily available from eBay etc in high purity as it is widely used for making biodiesel.
The only practical way of getting it out of methylated spirits that I know of is fractional distillation with a good column and you will need a lot of
methylated spirit to start with plus there is the other stuff in there like pyridine and petroleum spirits to worry about.
