You might try reacting alcoholic ammonia [NH3 dissolved in alcohol without any water] with urea. Urea is known to react with hydrazine to form
aminourea. So it may be possible to make guanidine by reacting urea with anhydrous NH3.
This would be of much interest to members in the "energetics" section.

Although its not a full on MacGyver job (MacGyver woulda used a coat hanger for the stand and clamp), I find your setup very inspirational. You've
given me all kinds of ideas now. Thanks a lot for posting this thread. There I was thinking about all the quickfit bits and pieces I needed for
reactions I want to perform but when I think about it, I can MacGyver most of it from household items.
