Hydroxylamine and Sulfur Dioxide

I was interested in what would happen if you bubbled sulfur dioxide into a solution of sodium nitrite - the only reference I came up with after a few hours is

ammonium nitrite + sulfur dioxide = hydroxylamine diammonium sulfate with ammonium sulfate as a byproduct

anyone have more insights in this reaction?
sulfur dioxide likes to reduce in some cases and in others oxidize so its kind of tricky to tell but I am leaning towards nitrogen will be produced and sodium sulfite will precipitate
