As I recall, there would now be at least three of you girls on this forum. Welcome! I hope you learn a lot reading through the other threads!

Welcome!
However, in an statistical point of view, I wonder why girls are reluctant to get involved with science?
So girls, I hope you can explain that to me.

I don't think it is that they are reluctant, I think it has to do with their development and what not.
For instance, ASD (autism spectrum disorder, so things like Asperger syndrome) often leads people to have interests in science and math - For every 1
Female who has that, there are 5 males. Also IIRC levels of testosterone in the womb, if your left or right handed (Left handedness is also more
common in men) and a bunch of other things like that matter.
I could go on and on about this subject, but I don't really feel like finding all the references and explaining the stuff. However, if you look into
it, I bet you'll see where I am coming from.

3 if we are thinking of the same girl, which I doubt we are, so 4 so far.
Odd numbers disparity though...

When I expressed interest in chemistry at a young age, my parents tried to get me into art.... or at the very least, a "harmless" science... like
astronomy. I'm sure if I was a boy, they wouldn't have cared what I did.
