I too wonder about that metal retort
I wonder if it could be converted into a down's cell for the liberation of Na from Common salt?

Greek letters can easily be done with HTML:

ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz

ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
produces:
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz

From those pictures(funpipe) i would assume
that the main procedure there was the
production of cocaine base to solid bricks
(The usual procedure in South America)
But this assumption is wrong.I would assume
from the magnetic stirrer diagram that this
is actually a large scale opium operation.
Mainly involved in pharmaceutical sales of
morphene,codiene,papravine,and half of the
thebaine extracted.
The remaining thebaine is being used for
clandistine operations in production of
synthetic opiads and fentanyls

Huh?? Care to demonstrate how to convert Thebaine to the structurally-unrelated Fentanyl?

Actually Fentanyl is made from the alkaloid
piperidine.
It has been demonstrated in the past by
novice chemists that synthetic narcotics
open the road to non-opiate related narcotics
For example mepridine can be used to make
the designer drug MPPP.They are chemiclly
related but yet are classified seperatly.
Even still the production of MPPP from
mepridrine is dangerous because an
industrial by-product MPTP can be created if
too much heat or acid is aplied.Ratios have
to be 100% correct or the batch is
contaminated
This is where the line is drawn for clandistine
labratories.MPPP is not a drug to be
synthesized for street sales.MPTP has
serious effects which are unreversable and
resemble Parkinsons disease

Actually, it isn't. It's made from N-phenethyl 4-piperidone which is quite a different chemical. And Thebaine would be totally useless if
you wanted to make Fentanyl.

On the contrary meperidine is chemiclly
related to Fentanyl.The only
difference is that the carbon ring and the
pyridine ring have a nitrogen bond between the two.The other difference is that the pyridine ring has a CH3 radical attached to the Nitrgen
element,while in Fentanyl it is a CH2-CH2-C6H5.
The nitrogen bond between the two ring structures in Fentanyl have a C-CH2-CH3 radical attached with an Oxygen double bond at the carbon.
In Meperidine there is no nitrogen bond between the two ring structures, but there is a radical attachment to the ring structure at position 1 which is
C-O-CH2-CH3 with an oxygen double bond at the carbon element.
So as you can see Fentanyl and Meperidine are alike and meperidine is the precurser to MPPP.
MPPP is the original synthetic heroin and not Fentanyl.

Thebaine has absolutely nothing to do with fentanyl synthesis

OrganicGuy...
You joined to answer a 16 year old post from a person who is no longer here in a zombie thread about some pictures that no one can see concerning an
illegal operation that likely no longer exists and certainly no one is interested in.
I don't think my eyes can roll back that far.

Well, you found the thread, then it's obviously interesting, right
I'm a university student from Germany working on an essay about abuse of synthetic opioids... I hope that calm down you eye rolling

Nope. I found the thread because I am a mod here and I spend a little of my time pulling weeds from the garden.
I am still not convinced that you have contributed anything that would warrant the reopeniong of a decades old thread of low quality begun by a now
unregistered user.
By all means tell us about your essay – at least the chemistry component of your research. But this little effort was about as pointless as digging
a pit trap for passenger pigeons.

It's a really strange and hostile approach you have towards a new member (looks paranoid to me). If you are insinuating that I have illegal drug
manufacture interest here, then I suggest you go for all the guys here helping each other out in drug synthesis (which i have seen plenty of after
only some hours of scrolling)... instead of this low quality insinuation, it simply look rude since there's no humor behind it.
That's all, bye
