HELP me homework for tommorow and im stuck
CO+2H2<=> CH3OH
all are gases at 107 degrees,
They reach equilbrium at a pressure of 1.59mpa with 0.122 mol of CO present and 0.298 mol of Hydrogen present at Equilbrium in a vessel of 1.04dm3
Assuming ideal gas behavoiur determine the total number of moles and hence calculater the number of moles in the Equilbrium mixture,
Right so im assuming i have to find out the partial pressures of CO and h2 however im not sure how to do this! do i 1.59 * 0.122 for Co and then
1.59*0.298 for the h2 and then just do these to values - the total pressure to find the PP of CH3OH?

Find the total number of moles using PV = nRT, or rearranged, n = PV/RT. If you need to find moles of methanol, just subtract H2 moles and CO moles
off the total. You have all the information there to just do a simple ideal gas law calculation, no need for the mole information of H2 and CO.

thank you P= total pressure V = volume = N total no of moles R = 8.31 is it the constant and T = temp
i feel really stupid now lol
