OTC antibiotics

So I am doing a small experiment with bacteria and was just wondering if anyone had any ideas where I could get good antibiotics. I am not sure if you can get things like penicillin or other well known ones OTC... I looked around in my local pharmacy and didn't seem to find much other than some creams.

Thanks for any input.

You'll find a fair selection at any pet store specializing in tropical fish

Ag and vet supply places, you can get oxytetracycline and a few other ones.

Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital ingredient in beer.

Ahhh ok I didn't even think of looking at a place like that.

Sounds like a field trip later today or tomorrow... ;)

Even better, I would look at the "Asian" food stores around you. If you live decently close to an urban area, the chances are that your local such store has a gajillion antibiotics imported, but in unrecognizable form. My local chinese store has cefalexin, penicillin and erythromycin - its just in boxes labelled in chinese and customs obviously misses this. Not that there's an intention on the part of the chinese folks to defraud customs - I'm pretty sure they have no clue that such import regulations exist - just that noone's told them that it ain't allowed. And the local chinese community doesn't care or know otherwise, either.
