Sodium Dithionate
(NOT dithionIte, dithionAte).
Does anyone have a good prep. for sodium dithionate starting with sodium thiosulfate (Hypo)? I know Cl2 will work, but I can't find any solubility
data using Google. Will chlorate oxidize thiosulfate to dithionate? ClO2?
I'm posting in technochemistry, because 50ppm sodium dithionate makes NaClO3 crystalize with tetragonal habit.
Also a prep using electrochemical oxidation would be interesting.
