Where to get cheap pipettes?

I've found some good sources on ebay, but I was wondering if a place like Target or Walmart sells them.

Also, I got some 40% hydrogen peroxide. At least I think it's 40%. It's also mixed with a small amount of phosphoric acid. I mixed a bit with KMnO4 and boy does it fizz! I want to try concentrating it to maybe 60 or 70%. It's hair developer or somesuch.

Please use the search engine if you want to concentrate your 40% H2O2 (not recommended, however).

As for pipettes, I've always just gotten them at a local surplus store :)

I wasn't asking how to concentrate it, I was just mentioning it. Apparently it's 12%, though.

The store that you get them at, is it a chain, or just a local store? There aren't really any lab stores around my area, unfortunately.

As far as I know, no. Definitely not wine country.

I tried Walmart; they didn't even know what it was, of course. There's an aquarium supply store near here. I'm gonna try them next.

I wouldn't bother.. they are good for plastic tubing and charcoal .. but not much hope for pipettes .. if you hang loose you can score good on ebay or labex .. just be a little patient .. I got more test tubes than I can ever use in one lot for a couple of bucks I got a decent centrifuge there too for under $100. Same with 2-stage vac pump .. got a great little chromatography column that somebody thought was a cheap burette that had lost its markings .. got a half dozen 1 L rbs (24/40) for $24 & postage. I could go on and on. If you wait a week or three your pipettes will show up. There was a guy selling Bushi rotovaps for $2400 and up. I waited and got a complete setup for $300.

Buy cheap lime glass tubing. Pull your own. You can even take the thread between your pulled pipettes to make wonderful TLC spotters.

Best,
