Be nice to the lab manager. :-)
This week I had some free time so I've been helping our overworked lab manager with chores that she didn't have time for (everything from
recalibrating pipettes to scrubbing down lab shelves.)
This morning she gave me a call and told me that they were replacing their Hach spectrophotometer; the old one was reading slightly out of spec on the
longer wavelengths so they bought a new one. Would I like to have the old one?
Yes, please-and-thank-you. It's the previous generation, but in great shape and it might just need a new light bulb. :-) (Mercifully it's just a
halogen, not a fancy $800 deuterium bulb.)
Now I just need a use for it. But hey, shiny! And free!
