Vacuum trap needed for high BP essential oils?

I bought a new pump by Chemglass a while ago and finally getting setup and I believe it's all PTFE components. Do I need a vacuum trap for high BP essential oils? No solvents involved. The picture shows my pump the reduced pressure distillations will no be carried out in the rotovap. Vacuum will be hooked up to the take off adapter above the receiving flask.

Thanks

I think that is an all ptfe wetted surface pump. (I think it's actually a Neuberger pump sold through Chemglass with Chemglass labels.)

It should be fine for what you describe, but I'd suggest using the trap anyway.

Keeping crud out of the pump is always a good idea, and if what you're distilling has a BP (at the vacuum you're using) above 30C or so just using ice water to cool the trap will catch a lot of the vapors.

It will also keep the smell contained. High boiling essential oils often smell pretty good, but the odor on some really lingers and can get tiresome.

That pump should also be able to handle solvent vapors of almost any kind with no problem, and acids and bases too!
