Elemental Scientific is practically a group sponsor.

For U.S. members it is the only source for a full line of chemicals, and it has a special order program set up especially for SM members (though anyone can use it) to purchase almost any chemical from regular commercial suppliers.

Through its offering of equipment and chemical sets based on the Robert Bruce Thompson (The Home Scientist) book "Illustrated Guide to Home Chemistry Experiments" it is the source of virtually the only decent amateur chemistry kits in the world.*

And Tom Holm regularly provides expert advice here about chemical shipping and handling.

More generally we often have people offering things for sale here, and they are very welcome as this is the only venue in the world for finding (or selling/exchanging) many chemicals.

(I just took them up on the discount offer.)

*The only competitor in this area is the German-made Thames&Kosmos 3000 set which is a decent, real chemistry set, but not up to the same standard.

Yes. For the reasons others outlined above. We need to support suppliers that cater to amateurs and don't adopt a 'holier than thou' vibe like aldrich.

They (used to?) ship certain things internationally too. When I was doing home chem, these guys shipped lots of stuff to me outside the US.
