best method to analyze amino acids

It looks like I've succeeded in synthesizing n-acetylcysteine amide using microwave synthesis. (Verified by tlc.)

I see that others have used hplc to verify the product (like Alcrich).

Would that be the best method? I've got access to a mass spec and also nmr.

If all you want is to confirm that your product is what you think it is, NMR and MS are good techniques.
HPLC would more helpful if you want to investigate the purity of your product.

BTW, your compound can probably form disulfide bridges, so in your analysis make sure to pay attention the the possible presence of the dimerized product, and/or, if possible, reduce the disulfides before analysis.
