Syringe and needles


Hi, does anyobody know where i can find glass syringes and needles (to use in syringe technics like inert atmosphere reactions)? Thanks

I would hate to make free publicity so I'll just say that just about any chemical supplier has them. (They are pretty expensive though. They can be over 100Eur!)

Why do you need glass syringes for inert atmosphere stuff? We use plastic ones, much cheaper...

Most vet/farm supply stores that I've been to carry them. A good source as long as you can avoid clueless people calling the police. -_-

A 60 ml polypropylene syringe from the vet supply around here is about $2.50 and can be used many times. \

The weak point is the rubber plunger which is destroyed immediately by hydrocarbons. A teflon gasket can be made easily by wrapping the folded tape over the polypropylene plunger end. Cut off the tip to the first ring and helps to trim the entrance barrel to a taper to provide a tighter fit. These are
gas tight properly done.
