HMS Beagle closed

The science supply store HMS Beagle has closed its doors. Apparently the new owners could not make a go of the business. Under the original owners I always found it to be a source of useful items, especially some special order materials. A true loss to the home scientist.

That's sad. I always thought that their stuff was pretty overpriced, but either way it's certainly a loss when any store that will supply amateur chemists goes out of business.

Wow that is sad news indeed. Their website doesn't exist anymore either. I supported their Kickstarter for the Heirloom Chemistry Set, a beautiful and functional chemistry set like they used to make in ye olde times. It's unavailable on Amazon and the Kickstarter page hasn't had an update in years, so it looks like that idea is gone as well :( That's a real shame.
