Reduction of CHCl3 with Zn and HCl
I was reading something the other day which caught my eye.
http://www.transtutors.com/chemistry-homework-help/halogen-c...
The article above states that chloroform can be reduced using zinc and hydrochloric acid. If so, does anyone know the mechanism for the reaction?
Thanks,
Hippo
