Organic Chemistry 2nd Edition by Janice Smith
is hands down the best resource I've come across for teaching the beginning of undergraduate to intermediate undergraduate level stuff. I Love this
book! If you're able to find the ebook version of it online and have ~$6 to order the student study guide/solutions manual to accompany it on ebay or
amazon, you will not go wrong. This book is perfect IMO&E
University of California, Irvine uses this text for their free online chemistry courses too. So you can also sit back relax and enjoy their lectures
*free of charge*. They offer a full curriculum to follow that includes quizes and exams if you want as well

Does anyone have updated links to the ochem4free ebook? The website has made major changes since 2006 and so the links here do not work anymore.
Unfortunately, there appears to be some outdated script on the website, so I was unable to register for a new account there.

This is a fabulous resource.
Purdue, main Chem page
This a 'pre test' I'm taking now.

One more
The "Test out Exams" page... very cool!
Edit: after a longer look (sorry) about half of the best research materials require a login, but there is still a great deal of stuff here for
everyone.

A Comprehensive Treatise on Inorganic and Theoretical Chemistry by JW Mellor, 1922-1937. All 16 original volumes via the google scan project here.
Or better, DLI (PLI now?) usually does good scans, but they only have half the volumes...the rest of the volumes at archive.org are in color...I
prefer b/w. Direct downloads in whatever format at archive:
https://archive.org/details/texts?and[]=A+Comprehensive+Treatise+on+Inorganic+and+Theoretical+Chemistry&sin=
What's this old shit about then? This was the right thing at the right time by the right person in the right language. At publication, reviewers used
words like stupendous. I suggest starting with volume 1.
If one finds difficulties in some reference sections, it should be remembered that this was made by one (1) singularly gifted dude in his final years.
The later extensive and dry supplement volumes are not included here.
The author wrote several books before this, notable among them the concise version Modern Inorganic Chemistry (I own a 1927 edition, smaller in every
way at 5x7.5"), and A Treatise on Quantitative Inorganic Analysis with special reference to the analysis of clays, silicates, and related minerals.

Contemporary textbooks in chemistry seem have adopted the notion that “more is better”; the books are long, expensive, and the pages are often
cluttered with interesting titbits and restatements of what it is that you have “just learned”.
Chemistry – A Textbook (http://chemtextbook.com/chemistry-a-textbook/) is the antidote to modern chemistry texts – designed to be simple, uncluttered and very much to
the point. Emphasis is given to acquiring an understanding of fundamental chemical concepts in the same way as you learn a foreign language.
Explanations are concise, enhanced by simple line drawings designed to appeal to visual learners. Vital Vocabulary is introduced in a logical
step-by-step manner allowing the learner to start to speak chemistry with confidence.
A web site (www.chemtextbook.com) has been developed to complement the book and is crammed full of free useful resources for both staff and students. We aim
to create a supportive community for all those teaching or studying chemistry across the world. The learning resources provide an easy to understand
introduction to the fundamental concepts of chemistry and simple step-by-step guides to solving chemical calculations. Each type of calculation is
introduced in a very gentle way, making no great assumptions about your chemistry knowledge or maths ability. There are then lots of worked examples,
gradually getting more difficult and showing as many variations on a calculation as possible. Self teach videos are also available to further enhance
your learning and understanding.
I want to create the most comprehensive free chemistry site for teachers and students of chemistry across the world. Therefore, I would appreciate any
help you can provide and am more than willing to help others

I stumbled across this compendium of assorted textbooks.
https://chem.libretexts.org/Bookshelves
The general section has some 23 texts.
Many (perhaps all) are downloadable. I counted 64 titles related to Chemistry. The few I have browsed so far look excellent.
I hope that someone finds this helpful.

The textbook Concepts in Physical Chemistry by Peter Atkins is now available to download for free here:
https://books.rsc.org/books/monograph/2194/Concepts-in-Physical-Chemistry
The book reads like an encyclopedia of chemistry concepts and I figured I'd share the link here as it seems like an excellent resource.
Looks like you have to open each chapter's PDF link individually and download each on its own.

Inorganic Syntheses, volumes 1-34 are available on the website of University of Michigan:
https://sites.lsa.umich.edu/jbuss/resources/group-members/in...
Fun fact: "Resources - Group Members" section of said website is supposed to be protected by password. But if one would search "Inorganic synteses
pdfs" in DuckDuckGo, it is the first result. Same with global surveillance website commonly known as Google.

Since it's rather inconvenient, I downloaded them all, combined them, added bookmarks, and compressed resulting pdf a bit. The preface gives a 403
error for some reason, but it's a very short preface, nothing really lost by omitting it.
