tlc of amino acid amide
Any suggestions on solvents and stains for tlc of amino acid amides?
I did a microwave reaction using n-acetyl cysteine, imidazole, and urea. I ended up with an orange/red oil. I tried doing a tlc using 90%ipa, glacial
acetic, and ethyl acetate 2:2:5. The oil fluoresces but after running the tlc I saw no spots with 254 uv. I tried erhlich's stain but there was
nothing that showed up. I'm using plastic tlc plates with silica gel so strong heating is a problem.
