C6H12O6 + 2KNO3 = K2O + N2 + 6CO + 6H2O
or
C6H12O6 + 4KNO3 = 2K2CO3 + 2N2 + 4CO2 + 6H2O

Mechanism? Nitrate breaks into oxygen and burns up the carbons...
