Sourcing Replacement Parts for a Vacuum Pump
I bought an Air Cadet vacuum pump off eBay a while ago, and it worked great when I received it. However, recently it simply stopped pulling a vacuum.
It still sounded fine, so I took the head apart and sure enough, the diaphragm has several large holes in it. Unfortunately, it's a Viton diaphragm
so I would expect it to be expensive, but Cole Parmer wants $66! That's more than I paid for the pump! Does anyone know of a cheaper source for a
replacement diaphragm for one of these pumps?

Would it be possible to make one yourself out of sheet Viton?

Unfortunately, I don't believe so. It seems to have a very specific contour and it needs to make a tight seal, I'm not sure how that would be
achieved without a mold and a press.
