Separate hydrogen peroxide from hair bleach
I have only access to 3% 100ml hydrogen peroxide.
It cost ALOT and i ens up with very little 30% when i heat to concentrat.
My girlfriend dye her hair the other day and in the package there where the color thing in one bottle and one bottle with 9% hydrogen peroxide.
But there is other things in it and it is a gele content.
What i want to do is separate the hydrogen peroxide so i Get only hp and water solution..
How can i do this the best way?
Hope someone have a good ide.

I have worked in a hair bleach cream factory amongst many other products, and the thickener was some kind of wax...molten, dispersed and solidified by
cooling.
Check the MSDS.
Maybe if you could use an organic non water soluble solvent, you would be able to separate the waxy microspheres from the emulsion.
Another idea is mixing a saturated urea solution to make NH2-CO-NH2.H2O2 complex (Hydrogen peroxide - urea)

Don't bother with hair bleach. Try vacuum-evaporating the drugstore solution. Evaporating hydrogen peroxide the same way as you do with battery acid
is Sisyphean, because heat causes it to decompose. Use any vacuum apparatus, no matter how primitive: a vacuum canning set for pickle jars will do.
Put the peroxide under vacuum and gently heat the jar with hot water. Keep maintaining the vacuum and heating the jar, and you'll have a much better
yield.

I see 30% on ebay.. Only problem is that your a terrorist in my country if you buy this online. Will Get stopt on the border and there Will be
investigation..
Good for safety ofcourse but hard to Get a hold of stuff that is need in a home lab
I allready been useing hp 3% 100ml from drugstore and heated well under 100c to Get 30% but i end up with too little 30% hp and for me to buy 10x100ml
3% hp is very expensive here.
I can Get 35% 10ml theeth whitning caps, but this is a gel and i dont know what Else is in it. And there is the 12% hair bleach with other sulfates
and stuff in it.
How is it to mix with urea to form solid hp-urea?
How is the approch to Get out the solids? And end up with fearly pure hp-urea? How soluble is it? And what concentration of hp can i expect?

I wish i was.
Like this with everything thats potensialy dangerous..
And u need a licens too buy everything so that the goverment know exatly who is useing what chemical or fertelizer. And only a registrated company
with special licens can buy chemicals of any sort..
And minimum chemicals at drugstores so hard to do home chemestry.
Thats why i allways try spesial ways to Get better chemicals.

Since the hair bleach H2O2 is actually a dispersion, you could try centrifuging it to see if you get some separation in layers. And since you can
improvise centrifuges with a dremel multitool you probably won't have problems.
The idea of using an organic solvent to get the wax out seemed good too... just be sure to use something that won't be attacked by the peroxide.

Professional hair shops carry 9 to 12% but don't buy more than one
bottle in the US or there will be an investigation. Also some of the
cheaper brands of hair dye have straight peroxide without the
thickeners.

I haven't looked lately. They used to sell off brands at wal-mart.
Manic Panic Flash Lightning Kit 40 volume is hydrogen peroxide, water and phosphoric acid in the developer bottle. I think the phosphoric acid is
just stabilizer. This is carried by walmart.
Salon Care 40 volume developer (carried at sally's beauty supply) is the same thing I think. It is described as water like.
40 volume is 12 percent.
30 volume is 9 percent.
Clear developer is going to be water like unless it says creme or no drip formula.
Walmart's with salons will carry more items in the salon.
Of course this only helps in the US.
Other countries are going to do things differently.
There are probably a 100 beauty supply places in the city I am in.
Most will carry a clear developer. But to get gallon quantities you are going to need to go to a professional place and if you are only buying
peroxide it raises flags.
