Laser Amplification using lenses? 5mw to 100mw
I am doing a project that requires a red 5mw laser being amplified to 100mw using lenses. What type of lens would be used and how would it be
positioned? If there are any ways to amplify it without using a lens like using a new driving circuit or mirrors that would help! My lasers specs
5mw, 635nm Red Laser Diode head for aiming, alignment or other uses
3mm Aperure
0.8m Radians Divergence
3.0VDC operation, Forward current <40mA.
5V max Reverse Voltage.
6mm Dia. Brass Body, 2in Leads

That's kind of a trick question... You can only expand or narrow the beam w/ lenses. They will do nothing to increase power. Mirrors can not be done
at home due to alignment issues, and the need to add external power or light sources.
There is one easy solution, and that is to use a different diode. One from a CD?DVD burner.
Other than that there are "pumps" to do the work.
I don't really understand the "Project". If all you can use are lenses... it can not be done, and why ask for alternate solutions if the project
requires lenses?
Just replace the diode with one from a 4x sampling dvd burner. Those are usually at or near 100mw.
As you go up in sampling rate you go up in power. 600mw is the highest I know of (for dvd) , and Phillips makes them.
Maybe like I said... I don;t understand the parameters.
They tried to have me "put to sleep" so I came back to return the favor.

I am making a burning laser kind of cooling system with a rotary aspect. It has been a side project for a few weeks. I have mainly been doing
aquaponics. Thanks for the answer.
