Glassware quality question
I am interested in purchasing a distillation kit from UGT (United Glass Technologies). I do not know how their quality of glassware would fare
against Pyrex/Kimax(kimble exax).

Bomex
Make sure it isn't Bomex and that it's one of the higher quality borosilicates(Kimax,Pyrex,
Simax,Schott-Duran).

Well when I took a look at their website http://www.unitedglasstech.com/. It says that they manufacture/repair/modify their own glassware. By reading their website I interrupt that
their glassware would fair well against Kimax/Pyrex but having feedback would be apperciated. They also sell other types of glassware like Kimax
beakers/clyinders/flasks/etc.

Question
Send them an e-mail requesting what type of glass they use. They mentioned on the
main page it's not the cheap shit from Mexico or China - big suppliers of Bomex.

If you want to save a few dollars, look at their eBay auctions. They usually give free shipping there.
They say on their eBay auctions "Pyrex glassware". I'm not sure if this means Pyrex-type (borosilicate) or actually Pyrex. Email them for
clarification.

My glassware collection is a mix of Pyrex, Kimax, Schott ect. I do not trust low quality glass nor will use it, so I was as skeptical as you when I
placed my first order with United. It was for a vacuum distillation adapter which when it arrived, was beyond my expectations. I have ordered two more
times with equal satisfaction.
The quality is as good or better than Pyrex brand because the glass is Pyrex but the assembly craftsmanship is better. The glass is Pyrex brand and
United mentions this because they buy the flask blanks and other base shapes from Pyrex as well as the loose joints then make the glassware from the
pieces. Many makers do the very same thing.

I've ordered from them several times before and got real pyrex. No air bubbles, flea bites, etc just good quality HEAVY glass.
And their prices... just blows everyone out of the water.
Order from them and you will not be disappointed!

Really nice high quality pyrex, prices about as good as it gets for ground glass.
I was not dissapointed.
