Second run today, testing out case hardening and testing some mystery steels for hardenability. Connected the original thermocouple, best fit seems to
be S-type although it does differ somewhat from the readings with the K-element that came with the thermostat. Any clever tricks for identifying a TC?
Also, how much can a 30cm copper extension wire screw up the measurement? The junction is pretty much at room temp.
