Synthesis of Potassium Perchlorate - KClO4

In my country, chemicals like KClO3 and KClO4 are pretty hard to obtain, which made me to build my own chlorate cell, but the perchlorate one I couldn't, due to the fact it needs a platinum anode(too expensive) or a lead dioxide anode(I can't find it anywhere).

I searched the internet about the synthesis of KClO4
which does not involve the electrolilsys method, and I found this:
4KClO3 → 3KClO4 + KCl
"Heating potassium chlorate in the absence of a catalyst converts it into potassium perchlorate".

Is it true? Has anyone tried this synthesis?

I dont think its true because in the sugar and potassium chlorate experiment you melt the KClO3 and then add the source of sugar. I might be wrong though.

Both of you need to learn to use the search engine instead of cluttering the site with new posts on topics already covered.

Yes it's true, I found this great site that has all the information you need about chlorates and perchlorates, here it is.

@
Detritus is a forum where we put our, well, detritus. Please post sentences.

I'm not a liar, I'm just an enthusiastic celebrant of opposite day.
I post pictures of chemistry on instagram as bismuthate. http://iconosquare.com/bismuthate
or this viewer if you don't have an instagram (it sucks though) http://web.stagram.com/n/bismuthate
