Canadian Supplies
What other choices do Canadians have other than prolab scientific? They are good, but extremely overpriced in some areas.
Thank you,
bc

eBay. Make connections with sellers. Ask them for things that are not listed. You will be surprised at how helpful some people are or the resources
they have. I have gotten *so much* from nice eBay people.

Thanks guys! For examine, I'm looking for a good vacuum unit. I think prolab wants something in the range of $800 for it.. heh. Any ideas? Sure
there are the hand pumps as well.

Canada is not really good compared to other country to buy supply. On US ebay, it is flooded with old and used reagents and equipment at low price
with free shipping. Since our postal service cost a bunch here there is no hope of cheap or free shipping, and every time I see something of interest
on ebay Canada it gets removed.
Surely there is people with access to old lab chems, but it seams they prefer to get rid of it instead of selling them to people which will use them.
I never asked for this.

I have been comparing prices of Canadian suppliers that will sell to individuals and started compiling the data and finding the best price.
Here is the result of long hours of work in a spreadsheet with what i found.
Everything is listed by category with an integrated cost planner featuring bulk discounts when applicable.
The summary page where i plan to have all subtotals add up by company and category will be finished once school is over.
Feel free to add to the file as i might have left out thing of interest.
Hoping this can be useful to fellow Canadians like me who want to get started or to others seeking better prices.

Found a few good places in Quebec where they sell containers at good or various prices and have some special ones too.

alphachem.ca seems to be one canadian supplier that isn't as well known. Their prices are somewhat expensive, but their diversity of
reagents is unreal. Luckily for me, they are based close to where I live, and I was able to pick up straight from the warehouse when I ordered from
them.

Alphachem.ca
I have not ordered from Alphachem, but I know that when I got some H2SO4 from New Horizons, I was charged a $25 Hazmat fee.
Alphachem's site says:
NO DANGEROUS GOODS SURCHARGE
Even if their prices are higher, you would still save at least $25 if you order some dangerous goods.
NOTE: This does not apply if you pick up locally.
