Email notifications on related posts
Sorry to ask, but I checked the FAQ and no go on finding my answer. I also went to my dashboard and spent 15 min navigating around. There really isnt
much to it, but I was trying to find out how I could be notified when I get replies to my posts.
I am not getting an email or anything to let me know that other members are replying. I do not see a way to get email notifications. So I am hunting
down my own posts and seeing that people have replied.
Is that what I have to do? I also, cant seem to find a tab to see all my old posts? I thought maybe I could review my old posts or something. '
Sorry if this is elementary. I just want to get that set up or know if I cant do it.

Above your post, there is an option on the left-hand side that says "Subscribe". This should be what you're looking for.

thanks!
I thought that was if I wanted to subscribe to other member posts, not my own. Well, problem solved and I certainly appreciate it!

As for finding your own posts, this is not something I've managed to do either. Closest approximation is using the Search function to search your own
username.

easiest way is to click the <a href="search.php?srchuname=organicchemist25&searchsubmit=a&f=all&srchfrom=0"><img
src="images/xpblue/find.gif" /></a> button below one of your posts.

goldenoranges, that signature is pretty long. Any chance you could condense it to only a few lines?

Has this topic become a quick question, non chemistry related topic, about how the site works? If so, I have question. What exactly does it mean when
it says, "Member Is Online" or ''Member Is offline"? Do you have to completely logout every time in order to become "offline", or simply close the
window? Because I have noticed that I am ALWAYS "Online". I access my profile on more than one computer (plus occasionally an iPod Touch) but even if
I close all the windows on all the devises that I use (and logout on the one that I'm checking on), it still says "Member is Online". I prefer not to
logout every time, because it saves time, and I know my family well enough that they wouldn't mess with anything.
[EDIT] typo

The subscription feature behaves very weirdly for me. I've subscribed to a number of threads, and emails are only delivered sporadically. I'll go
something like 6 months getting zero reply emails, then in one day I get 10 all at the same time (and the replies are usually old). After that
happens, I'll get notifications as normal for a few days but then they stop completely again for several months. Then the cycle repeats. They don't
appear to be landing in my spam folder; that would be pretty strange behavior if my email client classified them as spam for a while, started letting
them through again, and then reconsidered its decision and re-spammed them.
