Old time forum member returns to sell 24/40 collection
Hello everyone! I used to participate in the community under the name "Quantum". I loved chemistry and got pretty into it for a few years. Now I'm in
college studying gender studies with a minor in mathematics & biology. I've got some serious challenges in my life apart from college and I need
to pay for some medical expenses I can't get covered by insurance. My parents are no longer supporting me and I'm trying to raise money. I have a
collection of 24/40 glassware I'd love to sell to forum members.
Here is an imgur gallery of all my glass: Quantum's 24/40 Collection
Most of this glass was obtained from our friends at United Glass Tech.
Here is a list of what I have:
Claisen Adapter
Vacuum Bent Adapter
3-way distilling adaptor
Thermometer Adapter (with nylon bushing and I can include a 400C mercury thermometer)
Liebig/West type Condenser (not sure how long it is but I can check if someone is interested)
Allihn Condenser (not sure how long it is but I can check)
Vigreux Column (not sure how long it is either)
250mL Addition Funnel with teflon stopper - the stopper has been stored properly and is *not* stuck in the funnel
1 Liter RBF 1-neck with a star crack - I'm willing to sell this for next to nothing if anyone wants it
500mL 3-neck RBF flawless
1 Liter 1-neck RBF flawless
250ml 1-neck RBF flawless
250ml 1-neck RBF - some permanganate type stains but it's totally functional
100mL 1-neck RBF flawless
50mL 1-neck teardrop flask
2 stoppers with teflon rings on them
1 thermometer adaptor with a teflon ring on it
Addition Adaptor with 3 joints total
I can either sell this as one lot or in separate packages to different members. I've got the glass in storage at my parent's house so if anyone has
more specific questions or more photos just ask and I can go over there and get whatever information you'd like.
I'm not going to list specific prices for each item individually or the whole collection just yet - make me offers! If need be I will price items and
if I can't get enough interest on this forum I'll investigate online auction sites. I want to give members here the opportunity to get some discount,
high quality glass and to support the community

It would help if you indicated roughly where you are.

Only an American would assume that global location is an unnecessary detail.

Would you be willing to ship to australia? I am interested in the 100 and 50ml flasks. They go for $5.89 and $6.29 each on laboy. With their standard
shipping rate, that comes to $27.18, so I would expect to pay less than that. Its a small order though, and I understand that overseas shipping from
america is not cheap so dont worry if that kind of price isn't worth your time.

UGT is high quality glassware. If this stuff is all UGT, then that is a 200mm west condenser (new for $51 on their site), The Vigreux looks to be the
100mm model ($27.50 new), et cetera. Their thermometer adapters hold a vacuum seal very well (I have a teflon bushing one) but the o-rings have a
short lifetime. They are surprisingly susceptible to polar solvents. However, Ive bought quite a few cheap replacements at http://www.theoringstore.com/. get the metric viton 75 KFM stuff. Id let you know what I got but they've added a lot of new stuff and the baggie
is only labelled with a defunct part number. It used to be CO8v75 if you'd like to inquire.
I may be interested in the vigreux and the thermometer (not the adapter, though). If it hasn't already been shipped off with the adapter, that is. If
neither are available, I will certainly be okay with what I already have. (As I
await a third order from Dr. Bob.)

Thanks for the interest and questions everyone! I'm a pretty busy student, but I'll try to stay in contact with everyone who is showing interest as
soon as I can.
