Nitric Acid and plastic?
Does nitric acid dissolve plastic soda bottles? I want to make sure before i synthesis a dilute amount of it.
I seem to have difficulty referencing my hobbies as "safe".

Depends what you mean by "plastic". Polyethylene, PVC, polyester? Go do some research on what particular plastic your soda bottle is, and whether or
not it is resistant to acid.
Most plastics are resistant to dilute nitric acid. As far as I know, only fluoropolymers are immune to concentrated acid.
