a solubility question
I wanted to use Magnesium Sulfate Anhydrous, MgSO4, to absorb any moisture in my reaction. However I would like to filter the dessicant. The solvent
im using is the popular diemthylformamide, DMF, I want to use a dessicant, best if least toxic, that would take water out of my DMF, while not
dissolving in DMF in both its hydrated or anhydrous form, so that I could shake it for few mintues and filter my dried DMF
So basically, a dessicant that does not dissolve in DMF any how, so i can just filter it off after it takes any water.
I heard Magnesium sulfate is soluable(im not sure) in DMF, so I cant use it

Calcium sulphate.
Please remember: "Filtrate" is not a verb.
Write up your lab reports the way your instructor wants them, not the way your ex-instructor wants them.

You are not much of a chemist, dubai. Nor do you seem competent with using Google. Don't get into water above your depth.
The calcium sulphate that you need is plaster of paris, sold at hardware, home renovation, or handyman stores.
