Have chemicals to sell or give away
A few years back I amassed lots of chemicals, both organic and inorganic, while teaching a home school class. I would like to get rid of them now.
If you are in the San Francisco bay area and can come for it, you're welcome to much of it free; otherwise we'll have to figure out what can be
shipped. In the case of some more valuables (for instance metals) I'd charge in proportion to what I paid. Preference will be given to folks
involved in education or research.

It would be very helpful if you gave a list of what you have available, the amount, and if need be, their respective prices and purity. Especially in
an education or more importantly research setting purity would be important. The vast majority of people would would want chemicals at only the price
of shipping would be massive also. If it is true you worked in homeschooling then I think you would be a trustworthy source.
Also, love the email, I'm assuming its Streptomycin, a lifesaving drug. I also cringe at the thought of having to synthesize it.

you got it :-)

I don't want to post a list at this point: it's a lot of work and I don't have time. I hesitated a long time before posting here because it feels like
I'll be parting with a big chunk of my life, but now I've done it and I hope the stuff will be useful to others. Anyone with a serious purpose who
writes telling me what they're interested in will get a reply.
I won't have much time for packing and shipping, so my dream scenario would be someone coming to take most or all of it away.
As for purity, almost all compounds are reagent quality, but many if not most were acquired second-hand, and when the bottle has been opened obviously
I can't guarantee purity.
(Most of the most of it acquired on EBay or at Bryant Labs, which unfortunately closed a few years back. For a while I was acquiring everything I
could put my hands on, and in some cases a foolishly large amount too -- for instance I have over 2kg of sodium dichromate dihydrate, ACS, Fisher.)

I can't quite parse that sentence. But as I said above, I'll give preference to people who will use the stuff for education or research.
> If it is true you worked in homeschooling then I think you would be a trustworthy source.
I did, and I am.

Sorry that sentence was unclear, my bad. If you offer free chemicals, you will have a lot of customers. Shame I'm on the east coast...
