Is there a way to regenerate plastic backed silica gel tlc plates?

scrape off the silica and spread the silica el and bake it?
although it'll probably be easier with glass backed plates

Also several washes with a "pure solvent" or different solvents or a solvent mixe might help to regenerate the plates....
But everything depends on what you have put onto it for chromatography and its affinity for the plate.
Some spots remains very attracted by the silica and then it is useless...only very agressive chems detrimental to the silica would take those off.
