Ca(OAc)2 from Ca(OH)2 and EtOAc
I'm wondering if mixing 1 equiv. calcium hydroxide with 2 equiv. ethyl acetate, and heating to the bp of ethanol (possibly driving the reaction
forward?), will leave you with calcium acetate.
Only reason I ask is that the only identification tool I have is my nose, and the calcium salt smells just like the sodium one. Plus I haven't found
anything about this. (I don't really need to make such a basic chemical. It's more curiosity than anything so it's not a big deal if you ignore this.)

howabout you take 30 seconds to look up the boiling points of ethyl acetate and ethanol and then adjust your post accordingly.
Also why not just put the reagents in a test tube and heat? its not like the reagents are expensive.
