Specificity Problems with the UTFSE
I've become rather perturbed that I haven't found a way to search for multiple words with the search engine. Often times, I search for things that
will return a massive number of search results . . . and I think it's more convenient to post a topic in one of the subforums than to use the search
engine. Don't get me wrong, I still give the search engine to answer questions, but I really don't want to move through 20 pages of search results
because (example) "copper" and "acetate" are searched for individually, not as a pair of words. I even tried adding "+" between them, as this works in
Google and probably some other search engines. If any of you have advice on how to conduct a search more efficiently, I'm most certainly open to
suggestions.
Thank you. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try this:
1. Go to www.google.com
2. Type in the string "site:sciencemadness.org (whatever you want to search for here)" then hit enter.
This should improve your results.
Try using quotation marks around your string if you need to search for that compound term exactly.

First of all, thanks for the speedy response.
Second of all, thanks for the extremely helpful information.
Lastly, thank you.

This should be "required reading". I found this out just last night. Works way better than the SM search function
"We believe the knowledge and cultural heritage of mankind should be accessible to all people around the world, regardless of their wealth, social
status, nationality, citizenship, etc" z-lib

Around and around we go.
The search facility on this board needs to be renamed the HIDE facility.
It may be useful for searching References though since References is not visible from Google.
