Thermometer Quesiton
Anyone know where to get good thermometers for a reasonable price? Online of course.
Sounds trivial, but I really would like to know.
I need one that will go to 250-300c
I need another one with a 10/30 joint.
The last one I bought, the markings faded the very first use.
What a downer! 25 bucks down the drain.
The only one I'm impressed with is Thermo Scientific.

I purchased a nice standard taper <a href="http://www.ebay.com/itm/STANDARD-TAPER-10-30-SPIRIT-THERMOMETER-10-250-C-/270377992130"
target="_blank">10/30 thermometer from Avogadro's</a> <img src="../scipics/_ext.png" /> on eBay some years ago, but they're pricey. I
think it was worth it, though.

Thanks to all for the feedback. It is appreciated!
Don't really like calling out vendors, especially when most of there products are quality.
I will say this though, United L.G. has great glassware at reasonable prices, but I would stay away from nearly all other products they sell. This
has just been my experience.

10/30 thermometers are a bit pricey. That is not too big a deal, so long as I don't break it.
Oops, butterfingers!
The last one I broke was because I forgot to allow for vacuum pressure to escape in the distillation setup.
Pressure reached a point and out flys the thermometer from the still head!
It was worth the price of admission.

Can you explain that in other words? I did not follow.

Amazon.com has a variety of HB 10/30 thermometers for $45 to $60, with free Amazon Prime shipping.
And if you get Amazon's credit card, you'll get a $30 credit, so ... $15 thermometer with free shipping.
