Easy beginner questions
I'm working my way through Barron's E-Z Chemistry 5th ed. ISBN-13:978-0-7641-4128-7
It's pretty good, but I've found a few errors.
I'm not sure if this is one. On p. 322, this compound
is labeled as 2-ethyl-1-pentyne.
Questions:
1. What is that fourth line above the triple covalent bond?
2. Is this 2-ethyl-1-pentyne or 3-ethyl-1-pentyne? By my count the ethyl group hangs off Carbon 3. Does the triple bond not count?
I think both are typos. (Grumble in a 5th edition, Grumble)
Also, I don't fully grasp Redox/Electrochemistry. If there are any beginner accessible books on that, I'd appreciate the reference.

1) That 4th line is an error! It should only be a triple bond
2) you are correct the IUPAC convention should be 3-ethyl-1-pentyne 
Electro chemistry is a bit tricky I'll dig around for some starter information for you if no one beats me to the punch.
