Useful resource - organic experiment writeups
This site has many writeups of fairly simple organic experiments by courtesy of our open-notebook colleagues.

On a parallel site, there's a large number of solubility procedures. Given the number of questions of the form "I can't find the solubility of X in Y",
it's worth taking note of this collection. To pick one at random, take Determination of the solubility of palmitic acid in methanol using the density method. The log at the end has timestamps of each of the steps
taken. The whole thing was less than an hour and a half. So if you have some kind of X in Y solubility question, it's not so hard to measure it. It
will certainly take less time than an internet-only reference search, and definitely less time than waiting for no response on this board.

Very good information! This site has a good compilation of different organic reactions:
http://www.masterorganicchemistry.com/reaction-guide/
You need to pay to actually see the mechanisms but at least you get the name of the reaction. Then you can google yourself the mechanism.
