NMR Analysis?
Hello. I have a friend who is new to doing organic synthesis at home. He wants to see how he can get his products analyzed (to see if the synthesis
went well). Now, I know there are NMR analysis services out there, but it's a fair bit expensive. I'm also hesitant to approach the NMR at the
university I go to -- not because of the samples themselves (No, it's not illegal stuff), but because I'm not sure if I can go there for personal
reasons. Is there any cheap or free service that will do NMR analysis? How much does an NMR cycle typically require?

To be honest that depends on who you are and if you can pull some strings.
When I was a research student I would have had no problems. I would have ran them on the open use 60 and 90 MHz machines, no questions asked.
How about trying to have a chat with a friendly member of faculty?

This would be really nice to do . . .what about IR or UV/Vis spectroscopy as well?

Sadly I work with computers these days so I do not have access to these machines.
The nearest university with this sort of kit is tens of kilometres away.
The original poster is a student and may have access on behallf of his friend.

Not really in general, since geographically limited, but the topic was discussed also a couple of years ago:
