Looks like some sort of condenser for an old rotary evaporator. It might have been an extra trap to help capture low boiling solvents. But you could use it for that purpose. Since most rotovaps have spherical joints for the collection flask, you could put it in place of that as a second condenser. We have done similar things with dry ice traps/dewar condesers for highly volatile solvents.

Looks like a bong. I'm kind of amused how all the stoners started using ground glass joints, borosilicate, and keck clips. Not for me, I like my science glassware a lot more!

So the flask like thing on the end looks like a bump trap for steam distillation. It looks like there is a tiny spherical joint connected to the inner section (last picture). Looks like a water jacket on the outside with the broken hose barb.

I'm guessing Rotavap too. The condenser faces downwards with the flask on the top. That way the input faces down at and angle and the solvents leave the end of the condenser as a liquid. The joint looks so tiny, wouldn't pressure build up?

Yes there is water jacket outside with broken hose barb. Yoint is tinny. Another strange thing: spirall had only one hose barb.

The other end of the spiral probably goes to the outside jacket

maybe hard to tell, I will connect it to water later. I had idea to build rotavap from this, i can get rotavap mechanism with motor, few glablowing modifications.

Looks like a condenser for distillation with a bump trap on the right. Definitely not rotavap.

The kong thing is a condenser, I believe. It's both a outer jacket and an inner coil model, I've several similar looking one. They're intended to be used vertical, one is part of a lab distilled water rig and included a 5 liter flask with imbedded immersion heater.

This condenser is from soviet water bidestilator.
