LOL! I agree, I have my briliant moments but tis was not one of them. ;)

And indeed I have learned much about reaction times and solubility scales, and most importantly, what the reaction looks like. The sample I made was purely academic. If I ever need any pure potassium nitrate, i'll start from KOH, which I bought half a kilo recently.

I was always fascinated in chemistry class by the reaction itself more than the theory... probably that's why I went into a totally different domain when I was older. But chemistry will always fascinate me to no end.
