Dissolving KCl in water
I have searched the internet and google has unfortunately failed me. So my question is, what is the enthalpy change in the system when i dissolve 1
mole of potassium chloride in water?
Thanks in advance!

The enthalpy of solution of KCl is about 17 kJ/mole, according to several references found using ....Google. I used the phrases "enthalpy of
solution" and "potassium chloride". You can look at the Google hits and take your pick of which value to use.

Here’s the NBS (now NIST) certificate for the dissolution enthalpy needed to form a solution of 0.111 mol.kg-1:
https://www-s.nist.gov/srmors/certificates/1655.pdf?CFID=139...
17.58 kJ/mol
