I am not surprised about this. Over here in NL, you could buy TCE and perc at any drugstore when I was a child, but more than 20 years ago, these chemicals disappeared from the shelves. We still can buy them, but only at chemical suppliers, at high prices. Consumer applications have disappeared completely. I personally thinbk it is a good thing that these chemicals disappeared for consumer applications. Hobby chemists still can obtain them, albeit at higher prices. But in practice, these chemicals have not many uses in a home lab.
