Extended length transfer needles

A friend of mine started a company selling disposable transfer needles for chemists to use with sure-seals and solvent systems. I've tried them out and they are a pleasure to use when compared to the reusable ones. I may be biased, but I've really hated the reusable oven dried needles that people use for air-free chemistry. They require you to clean sharps, they get old, grimy, and leaky, and you never know if someone just put one in the oven and it has a boat load of acetone in it. Unfortunately, there aren't many great alternatives, there are some 4-inch disposable needles available but they are usually too short and expensive for what chemists need.

I think their application in home chemistry is limited, largely due to price and people don't do air-free chemistry at home, but I know many people here have jobs in academia or industry where they may be of value. I feel bad posting an "ad" on this site, but not if it's for a safer product that might prevent accidents.... I think they are still sending out free samples if you shoot them an email, and guy who started the company is pretty friendly so he may sell some for cheaper if you ask to use them for personal lab use.

I've attached a link to their site here https://silverpointlabs.com/

Very nice, just what I've been looking for. Long sharp luer lok needles seems to be impossible to find. Hope he starts sending to Europe as well

Not bad, though I'm usually fine with the 12 cm ones sold by Braun. Should we need longer ones, I will keep it in mind, even though it's a bit expensive.

We ordered some, and they are great, although everyone here wants a large gauge version as well. Since I mostly do larger scale work now, I have to agree that a 16-18 gauge version would be ideal. They said that they are working on that next. But good job to silverpoint and thanks for mentioning it here, numos.

Just as a heads up, the company now sells thick 18G needles, I know some folks had asked about it previously ...
