organometallic formation at workplace
Hello.
Since it cold outside i moved to another workplace where is a lot of radio-amateur stuff is stored right now.
The problem is that it has a lot of lead and tin on it. Also there is a lot of stuff contaminated with lead-tin solder alloy.
Ill try to clean everything i can, but its impossible to just dump everything.
ventilation is sufficient for stuff like ethylbromide in small quantities and many other not very toxic chemicals, but for example tetraethyltin or
tetraethyllead is a mess.
Can organometallic compounds be formed when fumes of alkylhalides contact with these metals? even if yield is low.
some books says it possible only with Na-Pb alloy, and for tin there is no information.
