Heidolph Rotovap
Has anyone used one of these for a while. I'm interested in getting any feedback on the mechanical seal. Its reasonably fancy and expensive and i was
wondering how people found their longevity?

I have mostly used Buchi's so I may be just very used to them or biased, but I did use a Heidolph for about a year or two once, and found it not as
simple or easy to use. It is also very hard to find parts for them in the US, but not sure about other places. But they work similarly. I did not
use one long enough to really know its reliability, but it held a decent vacuum when I used it.

I have worked with a couple in the past. They work quite well and when I contacted Heidolph they were very helpful in fixing any issues I had and the
seals are usually pretty good. The only issue I had was a fuse blowing in the heating mantel, but that was easy to fix.
