Question (PPM)

Does 1 ppm (parts per million) = 1 mg/L for all solvents or just water?

All sources I found seem to specify aqueous solutions.

Only for dilute aqueous solutions, or those with a density of 1 g/mL. It will be 1 mg per kg of mixture for all systems.

Please remember: "Filtrate" is not a verb.

For solvents besides water, ppm is just a nickname for mg/L concentrations. I analyze substances by diluting 250 mg in 25 mL to make a 10000 mg/L or "ppm" solution.
