Can I get permission to edit the first post in this thread?

I need to update the list of esters as I make them.

Is it possible to create an off-site sheet and link to it from the thread? Like say a public Google Doc or Spreadsheet.

Sorry, Cou. I can't give permission to edit one particular post after the 24 hour cutoff without also giving you access to edit all posts on the
board. (It is old software.)
I recommend adding to the list in-thread and then messaging a mod so that it can be appended to the OP. That does two things: it keeps a comrehensive
list at the start of the thread. It also introduces new compounds as you make them which can the be discussed by anyone following your work. (It
also keeps all the info within the thread and on the board in a way that would not happen with a Googledoc.)

That is a valid point. I did have that concern, similar to people uploading papers and references to file sharing servers and the link dying a few
years later. I would be nice if we could have a data server for that purpose, but there is of course the cost of the host.

We have plenty of room on the site’s existing server to upload papers and other small files as attachments to your posts. A lot of people just
don’t do that for some reason.

Awesome, that is good to know. Is there a thread with a procedure for doing so, or is it just using the attachment option in the post window?
